There is also codewalr.us that is fairly active for TI calcs (mainly Axe, xLIBC and BASIC, though). Or there is TI-BASIC Developer and TI-Planet  but the latter is French

Yeah, there isnt enough traffic on this site for me to check in with any kind of frequency. May I suggest going to Cemetech.net or Omnimaga.org for your questions?

It bothers me that all the last stuff that happened on this site was September of last year...

September 20, 2014, 04:13:16 PM
unfortunately, that is used to help prevent bots from attacking. a good example of this would be Spud's forum.
right now, this verification is all we have.

September 20, 2014, 04:59:52 AM
I find the verification slightly annoying. Every time I post.

September 15, 2014, 07:10:40 PM
Luxen: yes, that's exactly the goal, it's the glue between each part of the site  ;D

September 08, 2014, 06:59:13 PM
Contra: good idea with the top navigation bar! it certainly helps you realize there is more to the site.

August 24, 2014, 03:36:46 PM
also, this is the wrong place to make a topic about "cemetech minecraft".

August 24, 2014, 03:36:14 PM

June 16, 2014, 11:21:41 AM
I promoted your topic about knightOS to forum announcements ;)

June 16, 2014, 11:21:05 AM
Anyway, I don't want to simplify too much the homepage, because we need to be seo compliant and explain to boot what this website is talking about.

June 16, 2014, 11:20:20 AM
ok thank you Luxen. I think we could do something like this with html+css, why use flash? Anyway, what we could do is maybe to publish recent post and recent q&a on homepage...

June 11, 2014, 10:36:22 PM
this is that flash page I was talking about. I cant beleive you proxy is shooting down a url shortener. here is the full link:   https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/107246250/TI-84-plus%20landing%20page%20concept.zip

My friends don't have time for forums :(

June 03, 2014, 02:24:00 PM

June 03, 2014, 02:20:06 PM
hey everyone. sorry about the continued delay with the flash project, but exams, classes, yada yada yada.
@Contra: I am well. I'm curious what has led to the surge of new members, and I press everyone to introduce themselves in the introductory topic.

I will try to create a skin for tilem2 and I will do it step by step.

This howto is done on a Windows7 platform but GNU/Linux is basically the same :)

Ok let's start looking for an huge picture of a calculator on google.

Ok this one is really huge : http://wiki.tiplanet.org/images/6/6a/TI-84_Plus_Pocket_SE.JPG

First I don't want to have such an enormous skin (big size 1.2M, and big resolution).

So I launch it into The Gimp :

And discover that the picture is 1896x3368 wow !

Next I resize it (keeping proportions) to 900 px width and the height is automatically set to 1599.

Ok that's better.

I export it (TheGimp automatically save as xcf in its recent versions and jpg is done by exporting).

Now the size is around 420k, that's OK, and the most important is that the skin will be correctly displaid by TilEm2 and with a sufficient resolution.

Now I open Tiemu-Skinedit (wow I need GTK+ runtime 2.6 : http://downloads.sourceforge.net/gtk-win/gtk2-runtime-2.6.9-050806-ash.exe?download to install tiemu-skinedit on windows).

Ok I have skinedit.

I do File>New then load the file.JPG

A pop up ask for title, author, model, contrast. I put  Tuto, Thibault, Ti84+ and let contrast as I was already checked.

I set LCD then I set On and 1 (as it's not a real skin I don't need to set all the keys).

Then I save it.

Now I launch tilem :)

I set the skin and it appears normally.

If you want you could send me your skin(s) (when you get one as you want) it could be eventually integrated for the next release of tilem :)

P.S.: You can find TilEm2 on this page : http://ti-84-plus.com/ti-84-plus-emulators.php#tilem

Every steps to install notefolio for your ti 84 plus (computer and calc side).

Very detailed article !

If you tried to install notefolio, you should have noticed that ,notefolio is not easy to set up...

That's a shame as notefolio is an official Texas Instrument application but I will help you to set notefolio up correctly.

First thing you need to know is that :

First you need to download ticonnect. You can get it here : http://education.ti.com/fr/france/software/details/en/14D11109C9F44D55B9BBF65E5A62E7F1/swticonnectsoftwareforwindows

If you forget to install ticonnect, you will simply get this error "TI Connect is either un-installed or missing. Please re-install TI Connect and try again". Like on this screenshot :

You should have something like this :

Ok let's start ticonnect install :

Click Next.

Accept the ticonnectlicence.

Keep the default ticonnectinstall directory.

Eveything seems OK so let's go !

Ticonnectinstallation is processing...

Ok at this point it seems OK :)

Now let's start installing notefolio. You can download it here :

The TI website donload page is like this :

Ok download it then run notefolio install setup :

Click Next.

Ok click Next.

Accept the notefolio licence.

Keep the default install directory for notefolio.

Ok let's start notefolio install !

Notefolio installation is running :)

Ok notefolio is installed ! Go !

If we have a look at the Windows starter notefolio tree :

Ok next we need to have the notefolio editor on our calculator. So find the file on your computer (in the folder : C:\Program Files\TI Education\TI NoteFolio Creator).

Then send it to your calculator with ticonnect OR tilp. Here I will simulate it with the emulator tilem2 :

Ok send it (you can either click yes or no to garbage collect) :

The ti 83 plus fr will receive it slowly :

Press key apps to see notefolio entry :

Run notefolio :

Press enter.

Bad news : "Upgrade OS to 1.15 or later"

I have to update the OS of this calculator :(
Update it and retry :

Victory !!!!!!!

Now I can either create notes on my calculator and save it on my computer or create notes on my computer and send it to my ti 84 plus or ti 83 plus.

P.S. : a lot of notefolio related questions and answers are available here : http://ti-84-plus.com/calculatorquestions/index.php/tag/notefolio be sure to check it out !
You could also ask your own question very quickly on this FAQ :

Let's start an howto about the install of libtis which are required by several GNU/Linux tools (tilp, tilem2).

What's the purpose of these libraries?

Libtis are essentials to handle :
  • file format (libtifiles)
  • file conversion like grouping (libticonv)
  • multiples cables and their behaviour (libticables)
  • calc models (libticalcs)
You can download libtis on ticalc on this tilibs page

Alternatively, you could download recent libs from tilp website.

Then you have to configure and compile libraries in a special order as there's dependencies...

First unarchive tilibs.tar.gz :
tar xvzf tilibs
You get a tilibs directory.

Unarchive each library :
tar xvjf libticonv-1.1.3.tar.bz2
tar xvjf libtifiles2-1.1.5.tar.bz2
tar xvjf libticables2-1.3.3.tar.bz2tar xvjf libticalcs2-1.1.7.tar.bz2
You will have 4 new directories :
  • libticonv-1.1.3
  • libtifiles2-1.1.5
  • libticables2-1.3.3
  • libticalcs2-1.1.7
Now you have to compile the lib in a special order !!!
  • libticonv-1.1.3
  • libtifiles2-1.1.5
  • libticables2-1.3.3
  • libticalcs2-1.1.7
But before, download build-essentials, libusb-dev and libarchive-dev if you don't already have it :
On a debian or ubuntu :
sudo apt-get install build-essentials
sudo apt-get install libusb-dev
sudo apt-get install liarchive-dev
So first change directory to libticonv-1.1.3 and configure make and install :
sudo make install
Then second change directory to libtifiles2-1.1.5 and configure make and install :
sudo make install
Then third change directory to libticables-1.3.3 and configure make and install :
sudo make install
And finally change to libticalcs2-1.1.7 and configure make and install :
sudo make install
Now you should be OK :)

If you try to install tilem or tilp directly, you can get an error like this :
tilem2: error while loading shared libraries: libticalcs2.so.11: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
You need to update your link library like this :
sudo ldconfig
Then compile tilem2 or tilp and it should be OK :)
