What's a noshell program?

Some programs claim to be "noshell". What's this?

A noshell program is a program which doesn't require another program to run it.

On ti83regular you can run it with the command "Send(9prgmNAME" from the home screen.

On the ti83+, same principe but the command is different : "Asm(prgmNAME".
